TypeS
Heres the link to the Pioneer website about flex cable problems. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... nd+AVIC-N2 I would suggest calling first to setup a claim.
jimmy303
The N-1 in my Chevy 3500 finally went down, wow, 3 yrs on it. Lessee if Pioneer fixes it. I'll keep y'all informed.
jimmy303
Well, it does NOT look like Pioneer is going to repair my N-1, so I bought a D-3 to replace it, then got rid of the truck.....go figure. I'll be rolling a '90 Thunderbird Super Coupe (manual tranny, in excellent condition, 83k original miles, never seen a body shop), and I am contemplating a double-DIN (AVIC-F900BT) install. I am waiting to see if I can aquire a replacement radio/info center bezel, in case things do not work out, and to return the dash to factory condition, if I ever decide to sell the car(not likely). ReedH
I just sent mine in without setting up a claim and had no problem. Got it back a week later with the repaired flex cable.
jimmy303
What do you mean by, 'sent mine in without setting up a claim'? Did you simply send it to them without an RA#(return approval), and Pioneer fixed it and sent it back? No warranty issues? Tell me more!!!
ReedH
Yep!
jimmy303
Hmmmmm. How old was your N1?
ReedH
A couple years old. Maybe 2 years...? I registered it June 6th 2007 because I sent it in before to get the flex cable replaced. This is the second time it was ripped.
jimmy303
I'm sending it out tomorrow, using a borrowed N-2 in the meantime...we'll see what happens.
TypeS
Sweet, lets hope they perform the repair. Typically they want a RMA # or something. Last time you called, you gave them your serial number right? This is how they typically track these. Let us know the outcome. I had mine done a few months ago, my N1 was from 2004. Works great!
