Avic z1's back on sale at crutchfield.

I had a chat with one of the crutchfield rep's and they said they never heard of a re-call of the z1's, so maybe they just sold out. Or maybe they fixed the bypass thing, so if anyone buy's a new one let us know. God Bless!

Crutchfield says the Z1 will not fit in my 03 Ford Excursion. Does anyone know if this is valid information?

I measured my stock HU opening and I have 4.25"H x 7.75"Wx close to 12"D. I am sure it will fit but would like a confirmation.

FYI, crutchfield also said this unit wouldn't fit in my sequoia. I called and the rep said the unit was 7.1" deep and my sequoia was 7" deep. Regardless, it fit with no modifications or force so I wouldn't take crutchfields word for it.

They said it wouldnt fit my 03 Crown Vic either (It wont fit in Pre 03 Crown Vics or Grand Marguis due a difference in the heater duct) but it fit just fine after cutting off a slight lip on the top and bottom of the cars facia

well i will tell ya the z1 doesnt fit most Euro Cars.. (audi,BMW,mercades)
with out the Double Din Kit, thats a extra.. and hard to find..

these ares are ISO, and the Z1 doesnt come with the double din cage. you will need to purcahse that also if you own a euro car
