Why does my N3 freeze up while driving on a route???

I've been experiencing this for a couple weeks now. Every so often while I'm driving on a route the GPS carrot (your positition marker) will stop traveling. The map will spin when you turn, but will not advance down the road that I am driving on. It just freezes. Leave it alone for a minute or two and it un-freezes and gets you back on the road that you are on. Happened to me 4 or 5 times yesterday in a 1 hour period. It's getting more frequent and much more annoying. All of a sudden it'll stop moving and now I'm lost and don't know where to go!!

 

Anybody got any ideas that can help this???
