I have the f900 and it has been updated a week ago. Are there new bypass instructions ??. HiFiSi
It's the same. Nothing has changed. They would have to physically change the unit for the bypass to stop working, IIRC... and all that has been done to the new units is a firmware update.
radar007
Thanx for your help. I f the bypass was not affected by the firmware update,is it poss. than what could be the reasons why my new 900 isnt working?? (I initially had a 700) I will just take it bak to the installer and have him look at it?? Thanx again

KidFresh1
dianebrat or anyone else who can help. These updates for the bypass of the F900 to play DVD's while driving are all old instructions from 2007 and 2008. Does anyone have any recent instructions on how to bypass? I am just afraid that with the 2.0 update things might have changed. I also heard that once you do the bypass you will have issues with any updates that Pioneer provides. Is that true? Thanks so much if you guys can help.
apathyps
no, nothings changed. its 1 variable. just follow the directions. i wrote my own step-by step if you cant find any of the other numerous posts talking about how to bypass. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=15663&start=
KidFresh1
Thanks for that info. But does anyone have instructions on how to do the bypass via hardware? I heard the software bypass eventually will ruin your system. Anyone have instructions on how to bypass the F900 to play DVD's via hardware? Thanks
apathyps
ruin your system? that is completely false. if you want the hardware bypass, just do some searching. its been answered a billion times. moev the mute wire from 4 to 1, or 1 to 4. cant remember. go search for 2 minutes and you'll find quite a few threads and hundreds of posts about it. KidFresh1
I found a thread. Is this correct? From WIRE SIDE of small white plug Mute wire (YEL/BLK) is in upper row, left pin Move this wire to lower row, 4th pin from the left (empty pin between 2 black wires) the pin directly below the mute wire does not work Ground YEL/BLK & LT GRN and you're good to go
apathyps
sounds about right, tho i didnt do the hardware bypass. software was much easier for me to do. couldnt be bothered pulling the unit out of the dash and splicing wires. the lt green to parking brake was enough for me. HAAK31
simply connect the handbrake wire to the black wire and everything works, easy as that!
