Surovich Posted August 10, 2008 Report Share Posted August 10, 2008 Since my internal Amp is dead I have been considering purchasing a replacement Avic-D3 that cannot read discs (Read Errors). Can the drives be swapped from unit to another? Since my unit works fine, except for the internal mosfet, I would like to take my drive and put it in this "new" unit? I guess my main question is - Can I remove the DVD Drive easily enough? I have a pretty good electronics background (Including repairing my Video Games and Pinball Machines, component replacement/etc ...) Thanks! Quote Link to post Share on other sites

aketay Posted September 15, 2008 Report Share Posted September 15, 2008 There are 4 screws, 2 ribbons and 1 power cable. I need to replace my DVD drive due to 95,000 miles of pounding.
