dolfan954
Okay, this is my first post, although been reading on the site alot and you guys seem super knowledgeable! In any case, I did a quick search and theres just so much info and problems through the threads that none in the recent pages helped me arrive at a solution. I recently bought the BTB200 and installed it in my car to which I thought no problems. I installed it with the yellow wire which is what I read somewhere it should be installed. Everything worked perfect with my iPhone with the exception of the phonebook which I understand isnt possible. Then a couple days later, my battery died. Now I am turning to the experts... Should the unit be installed to the ignition wire so the unit only turns on when the car turns on? I ask because I recharged the battery, re-spliced into the red wire, and now it deletes my phone from the registered list and resets almost the entire bluetooth unit when I turn on the car. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, I guess I'm just lost because either coincidence that my 3 yr old batter finally pooped out on me or the correct wire doesnt function as accurately. Thanks for reading my babble...ha ha
HiFiSi
No, the BT unit has to be connected to a constant power source or else it will lose it's memory every time the car is turned off. The unit itself is turned on and off by the D3 through the IP-BUS cable. Either the battery was just bad (3 years is a fairly good run for a car battery) or something else was draining the battery.
