ablackformula
I have a d1 in my car, and my girlfriend is thinking of getting an n5 in her singledin dash. I came up empty on a search, but remember hearing in the past that since the d series only has one cd/dvd drive, you must load the map dvd in, let it load into memory, and then you can take it out to put in a music cd. If you try to access the map somewhere outside of what it has loaded into memory, you need to swap the cd for the map dvd, and repeat as many times as you access the map outside of the memory. Is this still true for the new n-series? I'm not having so much luck trying to find out on pioneers site, and the local car stereo stores have told my girlfriend that it's just "preloaded" into the system. Preloaded as in it has a hard drive, or a hideaway unit with possibly a dvdrom drive? Can anyone think of any other differences between the d and n units that may make us not as satisfied with it? I'm already not liking the fact that she's going to lose the a/c vents when the screen pops up (an '06 sentra w/ rockford fosgate package.) Any help is appreciated guys/gals .. Dane186
Yes, you need to put the disk in everytime you wanna change the map morso than what it has loaded already. D3 = N4 N5 = New maps The N series is the flip out version of a D series.
