pwnin o'brien
I received a new unit (warranty replacement) with the new firmware already installed. I just went into testmode to make a few changes (but didn't actually change anything) and then restarted the unit. When the unit booted up and went into the 2D map, I noticed that my arrow was gone and in its place was a shadow version of the arrow. In the 3D map there is a gray version of the large arrow. What happened and how do I get my old arrows back?
skicrave
Hmm, it's tough to say without getting a look at what is in your DATA.zip file. Is there any way you can grab that and take a look at it? If so, let us know if ui_pioneer/common/daycar.bmp and ui_pioneer/common/daycar.spr are valid images. Usually the system will fail to boot if it can't find those, so I doubt that's the problem. Have you tried a reset?
pwnin o'brien
False alarm. It turns out that when your GPS signal is low the arrows turn gray/semi-transparent and the maps colors get all messed up and it places you in the middle of Los Angeles. I just had to drive my car for a few minutes to get a signal and it replaced all of the arrows.
skicrave
Interesting (and good to know!).
CatchMeIfYouCan631
nobody knew that? lol It should have also said GPS Signal Lost when the arrow grays out
pwnin o'brien
I had no idea. The arrows were grayed out at startup and there was no "GPS signal lost" voice. That's why I was so confused, I thought something was wrong with my data.zip file.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
Well at least you got it back to normal. I saw this thread earlier and i was going to say that its probably a lost signal, but the missing arrow in 2d is what threw me off
