jerseystylewut
I finally got all this stuff in, tell me what you guys think. This was my first time installing anything in any car: HU, radar detector hardwire & mute button, bluetooth adapter and mic, ipod cable and mount, subwoofer, amp, and lastly subwoofer volume control dial. I'm looking for criticism, ideas, and some input from creative intelligent minds. Positive and negative feedback and opinions are appreciated, don't be afraid to be mean. Thanks! CatchMeIfYouCan631
Other than maybe cleaning up the speaker wire in the trunk, everything looks pretty solid. Looks factory.
jerseystylewut
I was trying to make it look factory, I like subtlety. Does anyone know how to keep my amp from over heating? Should I go in a direction where I can use fans or something like that?
CatchMeIfYouCan631
does it overheat now? as long as you keep it in an open area it shouldn't overheat. The way you have it now is fine
jerseystylewut
I keep the arm rest space open so that air can circulate in the trunk now which prevents it from overheating. Previously, on long drive where I listen to loud music, I think have an all black car would heat up the trunk plus the amp was getting worked.

That's a big reason, especially if that fan doesn't have a built-in fan. If that was my case, I'd build a custom box and add DC powered fans, but that's just me. This was my trunk in my last car, Alpine PDX 1000mono with PowerAcoustik 5.0F cap and 12" Alpine Type X
soccermeister2
trunk looks good. that box of cigs is pretty custom.
jerseystylewut
I thought about building a box and putting fans into them but I'm probably gonna take my sub out when I go snowboarding to keep my gear from damaging it. Really good job, I like it a lot. How did you power the fan? Is it engaged and killed by the mute wire?
CatchMeIfYouCan631
I didn't need a fan in my setup, my amp had plenty of airflow to keep cool, I was just suggesting maybe a fan to keep your fan cool and just showing you how my custom box came out when I installed it.
