I-Pod RCA input broke

Recommended Posts

I got my new I-pod Nano the other day and plugged it in, it seemed to work. But I felt like I was deaf in my left ear. I opened the door and got out to listen closer, and there was sound coming out but it was quieter than the right side.

I thought that maybe one of the RCA's wasn't plugged all the way in, but once I pulled the deck half way out the sound came on the left speaker normally. I started pushing the deck back in and the sound cut out again.

One of the teeny tiny small prongs that holds the wire into the white plug had busted off so the wire had pulled out just enough to lose ground. I used to have a DEH-P980BT, so I removed one of the pins from that harness and plugged it in and soldered it to the F90BT wire, and all is good now.

Not sure if I am the first to experience this, but the pins aren't really that strong so it could happen to anybody.
