BroncoAZ
I just installed a new in box Z2 in my truck. After 2 days if using it I got the freeze on a 100 degree day (Cool for Phoenix). Am I better off installing the firmware update from Pioneer's website, or should I just order a Z3 drive from the forum? Are there any problems that the Z3 software fixes that are not addressed by the firmware update? I am/was really stoked on this deck. If it works I'll keep it, if this will be a reoccuring problem living in Phoenix I'll have to get something else. If it isn't staying I'll be highly upset since I got the full package with the XM navtraffic, Ipod adapter, and Bluetooth setup. Sofar the Bluetooth works well. Is the ipod control any better on the Z3 software? I really miss the ability to scroll through large portions of the ipod library at a shot on my Alpine IVA-W205 instead of just page down by page down on the Z2. I did a search for "freeze" before posting this, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks, Mitch
jwq
afaik, there's not really any difference. You can use the firmware update to fix the freezing problem ( free solution ), or get the Z3 drive update which already incorporates the same update plus added advantage of new maps etc, but which is obviously not free..... I'd try the patch first as a quick fix.....
