flinkazoid
Some people have inserted blank .wav files to speed up the playing and mute them, well I just deleted them and man is it fast, and I have no more annoying beeps in the unit. the iGo software still beeps, but thats it. Thing jumps between pages now!!!
kg_jettaIV
I just replaced mine with blank files, but I may have to give this a try. Keep us up to date if you do run into any issues. Thanks for the tip.
littledeucecoupe
I just did this mod and also just deleted the sound files. (after backing up of course!) It works great, so it looks like you don't need to replace them with blank .wav files.
saeb
What directory and what are the names of the said files to delete?

Answers are in this thread - http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17249 . Just delete the referenced original .wav files (after backing them up) instead of inserting blank files in their stead. Or, as others have done, you can rename the originals to extension of ".old" (effectively deleting them as far as the system is concerned); then the files will always be in the "Sounds" directory should you wish to go back to original state.
