golfknut
hey guys, I bought Garret's hard drive and tried to change it myself, unfortunately my screw driver turned out to not be a good #0 and i just kept stripping the screws. One thing led to another, and then to frustration they were stripped insanely. I just kept trying different sizes of screw drivers, anyhoot, long story short i F'D up big time, i destroyed the metal casing around the hard drive (cause i was trying to pop it out even wit 2 screws in, stupid eh?) and the hard drive is dead of course. (i tried straightening back the metal casing and shove the hard drive back in) but that did not work. I'm pretty much screwed, does anyone know where to buy new metal casings for the hard drive? I'm pretty sure that Garret's hard drive is still good, it's just the original hard drive in there is dead and i still can't get the metal casing off of it.. i'm desperate and really need some advice, help ,etc
DiscoLad
I know that Garret has posted the metal tray and screw parts on here before. they can be ordered straight from Pioneer I believe. If you do a search of the forums you will probably turn up this info - if not Garret is sure to know.
