scow Posted October 4, 2008 Report Share Posted October 4, 2008 I'm shoe horning my D1 in my 99 dodge ram 2500. I installed the radio in my truck and got everything to power up and run. But the problem is Im not getting sound to the speakers. I have a feeling the stock amp is not getting power. There was no wire on the wiring harness to power the amp. The D1 wiring harness has the blue wire for powering the amp. Could that be the reason Im not getting power to the speaker because the amp is not getting powered on. Does the blue wire need to be wired to a 12v ignition source? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
CatchMeIfYouCan631 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Share Posted October 4, 2008 if your stock speakers have an amp powering them you have one of 2 choices: 1. You amp needs power which why youre not getting sound. Find the amp turn on wire from the amp and connect it to the blue/white wire, or.. 2.
