Here's what happened:

Screen would come out a little bit, but wouldn't come all the way out so I was manually pulling it out all the way so it could flip up.

There was no other problems than this.

I worked in the construction field so I thought there might be some dust/dirt caught inside.

I took it apart to see if anything was stuck inside and pulled it open a little to hard and tore the main flex cable right at the circular bend, it's completely torn in half.

That was like a year n a half ago, been sitting in my closet ever since.

I just ordered a new Flex cable and I'm going to install it.

When I plug it into my truck all I get is the red security light that flashes, no other signs of power.

My main question is:

Does that main Flex Ribbon cable control everything on the N2?

Power to the detachable face (etc.) or could I have another issue also?

Edit:

I forgot to plug in the Hideaway box, it's been awhile.

I have power to unit, face and the CD enters and ejects.

Screen won't move, but I'm guessing the displays and movement are controlled by the flex cable.

It won't open without the hideaway box plugged in

It won't open or close with the hideaway box plugged in.

Should it, without the flex cable?

I did some digging around and found the answer

The Flex Ribbon cable controls everything except for the things I mentioned that work with the hideaway unit connected.

If the Hideaway box isn't plugged in you will see nothing except for the security light when the detachable face is removed.

I'll let ya know if it was the problem where the screen wouldn't come out all the way.
