MrLourdes
Hi, Newbie here lol. Just got my Z3 installed today on a 2006 Dodge Charger, everything went fantastic (including the bypass, which was piece of cake!). Just have a quick question, I installed the Pioneer GEX-P10HD HD Radio Add-On Tuner and I am not getting any signal/FM stations. Is this Tuner not compatible with the Z3? CamelTowing
Did you plug the cars antenna in to the HD tuner? Are you trying to use it on the EXT source?
MrLourdes
Did you plug the cars antenna in to the HD tuner? Are you trying to use it on the EXT source? Yes i did plug in the cars antenna in to the HD tuner. No I am not trying to use it on th EXT source. In the manual booklet supplied by Pioneer GEX-P10HD HD Radio Add-On Tuner, it did not say to use it as the EXT source.
MrLourdes
This tuner is relatively a plug and play application. The installation was a breeze, including the power supply. But I am not getting any signal at all.
CamelTowing
On newer models, its not EXT. On the Z-series, it is. Switch to EXT and try it
CaptainInsaneO
In the manual booklet... Holy crap someone actually RTFM'd. MrLourdes, you're my favorite person of the day. Hope you get this issue sorted out!
CamelTowing
Read it, yes? Understood it, no. Pull that manual out again. Your head unit is in group 4 so you go over to the chart that says Operating the HD Radio Tuner, Head Unit Group 4. The first line on the chart is "Select HD Radio Tuner as an external source" Give it a shot
MrLourdes
The source "EXT" is disabled. All connections are connected properly. I did read the manual before posting This is why I am asking if this HD tuner is compatible with the Z3 series? Look at the picture below as you can see the function EXT 1 & EXT 2 is disabled. CamelTowing
Double check that you are receiving power and ground at the HD box with a volt meter. Also double check that the P-bus cables are plugged in securely. Ext 1 should light up when the HD box is hooked up
