superman8262
im thinking about taking the face plate apart since the screen protector is a bit larger then the screen because of the frame. anyone tried this?
jamesdandy
My screen protector was the exact size of the screen, but it took multiple attempts to get it to fit perfectly (bottom right corner still has slight bubble, but if I want to take it off, makes it easier) You didn't order the size pre-cut for the screen? Another note, I am in the North-East and now that it is colder out, my screen does not work for at least 10 minutes, and I am not sure, but I think the screen protector might be increasing the wait time. superman8262
the frame is making it hard to install, thats why i wanna take it off. i see screws on the side but im not sure if this is safe to do or not because my old unit. the face place was connected with electronic cables. blackh8552
I live in north jersey and with an inch of ice on the car my screen works within 30 seconds.
superman8262
Nevermind guys, I just tried to take this thing off by taking the screws off on the side, but its held by like 10 tabs. i bet its possible but its hard to do. looks like im gonna have to use steady smooth surgical hands. AZFlyingDiver
Let us know if/how you take the frame off - I'd like to scuff it and paint it matte black (TIRED of smudges!)... Good luck!

Exactly, I bet the screen protector is making my touch screen much less sensitive. I will take it off and try it without. Anyone else having issues with touch screen and cold? carlsbad0331
I just purchased and installed a screen protector. It was a non adhesive screen protector that was slightly larger than the lcd. With a few seconds of work, I was able to work it under the frame and you cant even tell it is on. It also had no effect at all on the functionality or responsiveness of the screen.
