HOW TO: Add Satellite Signal Strength Button to Nav Screen

Recommended Posts

Thanks MUCH to Stephanie, I was able to extract the Satellite Signal Strength button from her setup. I had to do a little tweaking to get it right for my setup, but it works.

Step 1: Add the following line of code to the navigatemap_800_480.ui file in the DATA/ui_pioneer/800_480/ui folder in the DATA.zip file:

;GPS Status

Step 2: Replace the status_minigps_onmap.bmp file found in the DATA/ui_pioneer/common folder in the DATA.zip file with the one in the attached zip file.

You will probably need to tweak the vertical alignment of the button -- i.e. adjust the "y=" value in the code (smaller number moves it up; larger number moves it down) -- to have the placement just right, but that's pretty simple and will vary widely based on what hacks you have done.

Once finished, pressing the button brings you to the GPS Status page. Also, the bar on the button changes color; Blue = high accuracy 3d fix; Amber = low accuracy 2d fix; Red = no fix; text 'GPS Error' = GPS antenna problem.

Have fun!

P.S. If anyone can point me to a detour button, it would be greatly appreciated.
