no audio with iPhone 3g

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, and thanks in advance.

I've been pretty happy so far with my F700-BT, it's a big step from the D3 IMO.

I just sold my D3 on ebay, so i wanted to erase all my GPS locations on it before it shipped.

So i unplugged my F700, plugged in the D3, and erased everything.

Now that the F700 is back together, i don't get any audio from my iPhone.

It's like I just have the USB plugged in because i see all the artwork, and both the phone and the head unit think it's playing, but i get nothing but static.

Again, the RCA cables ARE plugged in... the only thing i did since it was working was unplug the power and inputs to the old head unit to erase data, then plugged back in.

Any ideas?

k, i'm just gunna kick myself again for that one

:x:x

But seriously, Pioneer shouldn't make it show the ipod like it's playing if it's not the selected AV source- or at least if you choose iPod from the source menu make it auto select it.

Why can't Apple just make a head unit?

...one day

HAH

well i've had my 1g iPhone since last year and I feel naked with out it :P

just sold it for a 3g and made money! :D

and i had my avic D3 for a few months and got so fed up with it i had to sell it for an F700... and lost money lol :x

I actually found myself using my phone to find places over the stupid pioneer, which cost 3 times as much and is 10 times as big.

They definitely fixed a few issues i had with the D3, but there's STILL some simple fixes that would take 2 seconds to write into the software, it's like pioneer doesn't use their own products...

but, that's just my opinion.

A better fix is to have ipod be the default av1 source, in this forum this is the number one problem with this kind of situation, it happens daily i think.

I mean seriously, considering the primary purpose of this unit is ipod control, why every single time you hit the reset button or the deck loses power, would you make it default to something other then ipod for the audio inputs on av1?

I bet the tech support gets calls for this daily, it confuses the hell out of you because it works, then it doesn't. You don't even think of that as the problem because you think you already set it to ipod.

This story is so common, its almost a no brainer the 2.0 update should of made this the default. I bet their support calls drop by 20 percent. But then what would they do all day or what would we do? haha.

Haha, if it was default there'd be no Avic411.

It's true though- I searched the forums for an hour, must have seen the AV source suggestion 100 times, but I though they meant "source to AV input".

It even shows up as "iPod" in the source selection so why wouldn't it make it the "AV source" by default?

Oh well, Avic411 lives another day...
