Changing the Volume Ratio???

Recommended Posts

Its a tragic reality of the Pioneer AVIC F series we all have to deal with, operating the volume knob. How dare they make me have to turn the knob to the appropriate adjustment! Won't anyone think of the end user!

seriously though, if its that much trouble, get yourself a steering wheel remote interface or the Xony RM-X4S. If that doesn't suit you, go hack your unit and do it yourself.

Not only does the volume change very slowly with the turning of the knob, the knob is also slippery. I read another thread where someone put some rubber on the knob.

Seriously, when you give them knob a full spin, it moves the volume 5 units. That means you have to spin it 6 times to get 30 units. Someone must have hacked to volume ratio the knob demands by now.

This slippery, slow knob control takes forever to adjust the volume. Pioneer wanted a skinny, slippery knob that you can barely spin and wanted you to spin it over and over to turn up the volume?
