wce
ok, i just got avicf700bt installed in f350 and detached the car toys installed green wire from the parking brake wiring and grounded it directly to frame - now lets me do stuff only if my foot is on regular brake? also still doesn't let me view the ipod video on the main screen unless in park. also get warning every single time i start up that "lead is improperly connected"
jmmorgan82
You have to move and ground the Mute wire on the RCA harness for it to work. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17013
wce
is there any other way without pulling the dash, etc. to access the wiring harness? i was told to simply ground the wire going to the parking brake and that has only partially resolved the problem. The way the installation manual describes, should I put a 12v power source to the green wire that was going to the parking brake?
offroaderf150
you either do that, or you can do the software bypass that is described in the forum. but you gotta know what you're doing otherwise you can potentially screw up the unit.
