CHILI
My phone connects well and makes the first call perfectly, but on all subsequent calls the sound is transferred to my phone (nothing from the car speakers). When I disconnect the bluetooth connection and reconnect I get my one good phone call and then its back to silence on all subsequent calls again. I've searched the forum and cannot find any examples of this problem. I've called Pioneer and other than suggesting that I try the older bluetooth software problems (which I did and didn't fix the problem), they suggested that I send in the head unit for them to look at. I really don't want to do that. I've noticed that several people have said that the VX8350 works great with this unit. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?
jem199
I had the same problem on the 900bt. Once you see that your phone is connected, flip it open and click Yes to download the contacts. PITA to do this each time, but it works for me now. Much better than having my calls go to my phone and lock up my avic.
CHILI
Good call thanks, that seems to work. For those of you using the vx8350 and are having the same issues, the question now becomes if there is a way to have the phone automatically accept the "Bluetoot PBAP requested by Pioneer Nav.". If we can get the phone to do that, then the PITA of having to manually accept this everytime we connect would be eliminated and everything will work ok. Any thoughts on how to get the phone to do that? Thanks for the help! CHILI
CHILI
Update: I just got off the phone with LG and they say that this cannot be changed on the LG VX8350. The explaination was that the AVIC was asking for a service that the LG phone cannot provide (the PBAP). I don't fully understand this, but it seems that if this is true, in order to have the AVIC and VX8350 work correctly, you must open the phone and accept the request for Bluetooth PBAP every time you get in the car. Looks like I'm looking for a new phone as this is unacceptable for me. One of the advantages of Bluetooth is being able to leave the phone in my pocket or briefcase. jem199
Thanks for those details. I suspected it was the phone, but never followed through. It's troubling that earlier model LG phones did have this capability. Did LG suggest any models that can auto accept the pbap? Parrot users found a way around this: http://www.parrot.com/forums/usa/viewtopic.php?id=1592 My Avic is still constantly rebooting so I can't get in and mess with this. I don't think we can't set whether the phonebook syncs each time or not with the pairing on the Avic like they can on the parrot. I'd prefer that, though. I'd like just a few numbers in my avic contacts as opposed to all the numbers that are in my phone. I have every company employee on my phone and I definitely don't need that in my car.
