outback07 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Share Posted January 21, 2009 whats up guys? I just picked up a AVIC-D3 unit at my local pawn shop. It is missing the RCA plug and the GPS antenna. It does have the nav discs though. I have installed it in my truck and the radio functions work as they should, however, when I put in a DVD movie I can hear sound but only see a grey screen. Is this because I don't have the RCA plug? What features am I not going to be able to access until I get one of these plugs. Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks! spider2k Posted January 21, 2009 Report Share Posted January 21, 2009 the pin you need to ground is in that harness to allow the video to play while moving. if you have it hooked properly to the parking brake and it still doesnt show video then you've got other issues... outback07 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Share Posted January 22, 2009 Yea, I know the bypass wire is in the missing harness, I'm just trying to figure out if I have bought a good unit or a lemon before I shell out the extra dough for the RCA plug (they run around $50 on ebay).
