PaisanNYC
so if you've got one.. feel free to post.. if you don't, then please try not to
No need for snide remarks newb. I have discussed this SEVERAL times, so obviously you didnt do the right boolean search on this forum.

Congratulations on discussing this topic SEVERAL times. And yes, I already have seen your posts regarding this. But you're ONE opinion, not SEVERAL. I'm trying to find out from a couple people though to see what the general consensus is around the area. I've already searched the forums before I asked my question. Why must people like you insist on being assholes? I asked a question, and if someone wants to answer it, let them. If they don't, that's perfectly fine too. But if you don't want to answer my question, why do you feel so compelled to start with the BS 'newb' stuff. God forbid someone has a limited number of posts on this forum or asks a simple question.. there you guys are though, ready to attack. Why don't you just mind your own business and let people offer their opinion on their personal experience so we can add to the forums rather than depend on one person's SEVERAL times of discussing it. PaisanNYC
Once again you prick, do a boolean search. You will see quite a few people from the NY metro area have already discussed this besides myself. And if you are too "ig'nant" to understand what a boolean search is, google it, asshole. Remember you made the nasty remark to the other member first.
cntrylvr79
Now Now everbody, calm down no need for name calling. Here's some topics to help out. Take the area I live in for example. The tv tuner will pick up maybe 2 or 3 channels very badly and that's it.

jay0heavenly
Knicks0819, after doing my research, I found out that this thing does get pretty good reception so I went ahead and ordered it...it should be on by early next week so I'll post again to let you know how it is. Oh and I almost forgot, I live right near the Bronx and I travel to school in North NJ 3 times a week, so I'll test it in all areas and let you know the real deal. So far I must say, people seem to be pleased with it. I know its not gonna be crystal clear all the time but it should still be good.
knicks0819
awesome.. thanks jay, executioner, and cntrylvr.. your input is certainly appreciated.. i look forward to hearing from you again jay
sl1234
Where did you order the 5700?
seek2find3
I have also been tempted to purchase the TV Tuner. I did some searches as well and came up with only a few threads, so not sure what I was doing wrong. Thanks cntrylvr79 for the links. It appeared that it was pretty much hit or miss with where you live. I think that I will take the plunge though. It would be a cool added feature. My installer gets it straight from his distributer, so I don't have a specific retailer in mind sl1234. He said $275 installed. Not sure if that is fair or not, but he is very good, so I don't mind paying a few extra bucks if that is the case. I live in Upstate NY. I have been extremely happy with the Z1 thus far. Thanks to Ducati Boy for his tremendous contributions to the forum, and to everyone else that has taught me a thing or two. Ducati Boy, if you are reading this, I thought I heard something about a ayPal account setup to throw a few "Thank You" dollars your way. Was that ever established? I would be up for rolling a few coins in there. Enjoy and drive safe. Remember the TV is for the passengers. Sorry, my son was reading over my shoulder. Had to make the "Father" speech. jay0heavenly
Knicks, I just got the 5700 installed today and did some testing out... First impression... okay. It wasnt HD TV of course but I got pretty good reception in a lot of areas. I was driving while doing my tests in the Bronx, so that might have an impact because there are spots where you can get real good reception and just park it there. Overall I am pretty happy with it. Dont think that your gonna get crystal clear picture all the time, but compared to other tv tuners I am impressed. I've seen some that get fuzz all the time, but for the most part you could enjoy whats on tv. I was watching a football game and every now and then the fuzz would take away from the game but for the most part I am satisfied. Remember that everybody says it depends on your area, but in the metropolitan NYC area I would give it a 7 out of 10. I bought mine off ebay from http://myworld.ebay.com/hifiaudioonline and he shipped it immediately and came out to about 240 shipped. Is it worth the 240 plus costs for installation??? eh, depending on how deep your pockets are. I wouldn't buy this if I were strapped for cash, but if you got some $ to spare, it will be worth it. If you have any Q's, just post a reply and I'll hit you up. In sum, if I had to do it over again, I would.
wesman
Hey knicks0819, don't worry about this asshole, PaisanNYC. Guy has a serious problem. Funny how he calls everyone newb, but he just joined in July. If I was closer to New York, I would smack him like the little bitch he is. Now what?
