TomRaz
I just ordered a F90BT and I was reading the installation manual. The Orange/White wire indicates it should go to the lighting switch terminal. In my 2003 Corolla there are two lighting related wires Radio Illumination Wire=Green Stereo Dimmer Wire=White/Black Since both wires are have some light functions which one of the 2 Corolla wires should I connect the Orange/White wire to ? Thanks
dianebrat
Stereo Dimmer Wire=White/Black That's the closer of the 2, Orange/White is also usually referred to in standard aftermarket harnesses as "dimmer" The orange wire is flagged "illumination" I'd use dimmer
CatchMeIfYouCan631
Agreed with Dianebrat, but don't button everything up until you test it first, since we don't know 100%.
dashtwo
i am not sure about your car but my "illumination" wire provides the +12v when the lights are turned on. this signal will let the avic know that you turned the headlights on and will dim the display. the "dimmer" wire runs through the resistor to ground that you use to dim the dash illumination of the whole car (and stock radio). IMHO, you should use the illumination wire. thats what i did and it works great.

04 Honda Civic
I dont see much of a difference from connecting the orange/white wire to power what is it supposed to do?
Paladin
I ordered the 700BT but do not want it to dim or automatically change to night mode. Can I just turn night mode on manually? I turn my lights on even during the day for safety. So obviously I don't want to dim it during the daytime.
skicrave
Don't connect the illumination lead.
