possible sound mute mod

Recommended Posts

I find it frustrating that the AV sounds mutes completely when the navigation voice comes in.

Also the *ding* gets annoying after the first 8 times or so. A *ding* is nice when there were no instructions for the last 15 minutes or so...

Anyway.

I've spend some hours in the common ui files inside the data.zip.

In the settings.ui I found this bit:

As I read it it sets a value for the os_volume and its mute.

How about finding a mod that a third string is created during navigation, something in the region of:

if "!play command" SET sound.os_voume 80

(80 out of 255)

furtheron it says:

This all seems only aplicable on the soundsettingsmenus, nevertheless I think there are some useful strings in here to put in the override script...

I'm not a devver though

Any ideas?

How dumb is this

It is an excisting setting!:!:

Go to AV SOURCE

Hit the OFF button in the right down corner

press MENU

Go to SETTINGS

Go to AV settings

make sure AV1 is OFF, AV2 is OFF

Hit return

Go to AV settings

the first button on the second row displays MUTE.

ATT is for half muted

NORMAL keeps on playing (but can be quite disturbing)

the *ding* mod however, would still be nice to achieve :)

Yes it sure works! 8)

(still working on the avic_go_faster=1 line ;) though)

also the ATT settings for instructions is a LOT better!

Still wanting a time-out for the ding...

for instance to only play the ding if the last instrucion >720 sec or so.

I remember quite some trips where I've spent hours behind the wheel, middle of the night, getting whoozy, and then suddenly "BEAR RIGHT"

Bear? where? what?
