brianteel
Well I installed the radio today and it went very smooth which was nice. i know in one pictures the wires are all crazy under the seat. i had no zip ties going to fix that later on
Lash
How tricky was swapping the underseat Sirius unit, are all the plugs compatible?
brianteel
took apart the sirius antenna plug which took a bout 1 minute then cut the plug off the power and ground and added my own things and plugged it in. the metal plate makes a great mount for everything too. Lash
Did you opt for steering wheel controls? If so which adapter did you use? Thank (I've got a VW Eos that I may do an install... if I get the nerve)
brianteel
it is a simple install. i got the connect 2 adapter from the UK which made it even easier. the steering wheel controls do work with it. If you are thinking about doing it go for it nothing to lose except a less capable radio i will get the link later and post it here.
M4T VW
Hmm, You have cut that down loads! Good job. Am i right in thinking the blue and white cables are the CAN high and CAN low? I might be able to get rid of a big chunk if so...
brianteel
which blue and white cables
M4T VW
In this pic on the quadlock connector there is a blue and white wire twisted together. This goes into the CAN-BUS adapter. Im thinking that is the CAN high and CAN low wires. Can you confirm your unit stays on untill you pull the key out? Also is the unit meant to go dead straight away or is it meant to do some sort of bootdown?
brianteel
mine stays on with key and just shuts down with i turn it off. as for the blue and white wires i did not mess with them
