  1. You cant, The USB port is a downlink port INTO the Avic, Not the other way round. Why would you want to connect it to a PC like that?

  3. Hi All Ive read most of this thread (40 pages!) and got a little confused! What disk would i need for the UK? Im thinking its west but on the pirate bay there is EU 2A West. Would i need 1A or would that be the east? Can i just use the 2A west disk or do i need the others? Its for my Dad's X1, I have an F series, How technology changes! I know how to do all the other stuff im just not sure which one i need! Thanks Mat
  4. Hi There I install an F900BT into my 2008 Polo UK spec with can-bus. I used a connects2 can-bus adapter and an autoleads iso to quadlock adapter. The connects2 was rubbish, Most of the outputs i wanted didnt even work! Switched live didnt work which was the most important one, I got around that by using the aerial power for the ACC. The illumination didnt work but the unit can use its own built in time for that. Ive grounded the brake so didnt need that, The only one i was able to make use of was the VSS. It took me a month to get it and i was annoyed so i couldnt be bother

  7. So we cant just use the windows CE 5.0 version of the driver then? Vag-Com is not on windows CE, They have never ported it so we are stuffed there. How about running a virtual machine on CE, Or am i pissing into the wind here....
  8. Hi All I might possibly be able to help on this one. I have an F900BT running 3.02 and i also have vag-com software and also a USB-VAG serial lead. Vag-Com is VW software for looking at fault codes but it can also tell you lots of things like speed etc. Im willing to try this. Looking at the drivers list for my lead it looks like there might be a windows CE driver. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm The only thing now would be to get the software working on the avic. Whats the best way to do this.
  9. Great, Many thanks for the help, Im going to try this tonight as i cant get the other ways to work! Ive tried to install 3.0 already and have a unit with the "system startup" message stuck on, Can i just try and upgrade straight to this or is it better to go back to 2.6 first?
  10. The torrent works fine for me, Fast download! Still cant get mine to work, Tried a different PC and software. Re-downloaded all the files and still get the startup message stuck on screen! Only thing is to try a different SD card but i dont have one, It seems to be copying all the files correct but its not playing ball!
  11. Oh and another thing, How come my splash screen is still there? Surely this is a hard reset on these devices?
  12. Hi All Ive got the same problem some people are having, I have "System is starting up" stuck on the screen, The buttons are changing colour and it restarts after 5 mins. It seems to be the way everyone is extracting the files and what SD card they are using. Im using windows 7 and have tried winrar & winzip both with the same results. Im using a transcend 4gb NON SDHC SD card. First thing to check, Is the torrent download 1.52gb? It says 1.59 in the first post. Thanks Mathew
  13. That is the problem i had, I dont think the connects 2 unit works the same way the factory unit worked. I managed to get around this by connecting the ACC to the aerial power in the car loom. This only turns off when i pull the key out, Not turn the ignition off.
  14. Aerial power is what volkswagens use to supply power to the standard HU's booster. Im connecting the aerial power and the ACC to that. That way they both turn off when i take the key out. Ive tripple checked the wiring. It goes from the can-bus in the OE harness to the adapter and this it. It doesnt work on the output of the adapter, Really annoying..
  15. Progress Update The connects 2 adapter is crap.. The bits i want dont work. Sod's law! The Ignition doesnt work as its suppose to, It just turns off with the key. Ive found that if i connect the ACC to the aerial power in the harness i can get around this and it works as it should! The Speed pulse works, Ive not tested it on the avic but it works according to the meter. As with the reverse signal, Not tested but works on the meter. But the illumination doesnt work at all. When i connect it, It gets a 12V signal straight away with the lights not even on. When i turn the lig
