Herkguy
Quick question as I figure out this upgrade. Can I use the xm tuner I got for my N1 in 2004 with the F90BT? Also, can I use the same wiring harness?
CamelTowing
Different harness and XM
Herkguy
So the GEX-P910XM does not work at all with the F90?? And I thought Wiring harnesses were just car specific and not stereo (ie so my previous harness should work??
CamelTowing
The 910 doesn't work, get the 920. The F-series will come with a harness that you will have to splice into the vehicle specific harness. Like I said the first time...different harness, different XM
CokaChoka
From page 109, the 910 is a no-go. The fact that Pioneer is last on the list for compatibility with the XM Direct 2 is frustrating and a big disappointment. If that were an available option, I could get away with using one account for three cars, the house, boat, and wherever else. As far as the N1/F90 harness, while I'm not familiar with the specific harness for the N1 (very possibly different), splicing/soldering/etc. can be avoided if desired. You should be able to simply pull the pins from the N1 harness and swap them in the correct locations on the F90 and voila, plug it right in and enjoy. Typically speaking the pins/colors are the same unit to unit with Pioneer with the only possible difference being the exact gauge/pin size for the actual power lines (constant B+ and ground) which may be the only "speed bump" for doing a full pin swap.
