DataAve
I have noticed with the Nav system, that my home is about 2 blocks or so off. The nice lady in my radio says, "you have arrived." Then we get into a bit of an argument, because I know exactly where my house is, and it is not 2 blocks (in either direction) from where I actually am. I am now out of state on a business trip and the nice lady in my Nav system is off on my destination (about 2 blocks off again). If it weren’t for ‘POI’ search, I never would have found the hotel. Is there any way to tweak the Avic-z1 so it knows my exact location?
IcePegasus
Have you try to use the current position in the menu. I think that will allow you to adjust the current position on the map. I don't know it will help or not. I never had this probolem. Let me know is that help.
markm
The manual says you're alerted within 300 meters (approx 2/10ths of a mile.) pg. 62 of the user manual When the location with a sound effect and an image are registered comes into approx. 0.19 miles (300 m) radius from the vehicle position, the sound effect plays and the image appears. I am staying at the Marriott and I picked that in the POI functions. Why would that be off? I passed it on the other side of street (I got lucky and was looking that way) but it kept telling me to drive. I ended up about 1/2 mile (in a bad area) than where the hotel actually was.
