Solution to iphone phonebook transfers

Recommended Posts

i finally figured out how to transfer my iphone contacts to the avic fbt90 so voice dialing is possible!

first you have to somehow backup your contacts on your mac. then, you decide what are the most important 30 or 40 contacts you would like to utilize for transfer.

in the contacts program on your mac, change the format to 1.234.567.8900

then delete all groups. save only the contacts you would like transfer to your avic. so that means deleting everything else. that should leave you with what you truly want.

to accomplish this, i both exported my address book as a file, but i also turned off sync with mobileme, so my mac contacts would not be lost from the main computer.

after you transfer to avic via phonebook transfer, just go back to mobileme prefs and do a reset sync (under advance). replace the mobileme cloud with the computer based contacts.

if you are comfortable with computers in general it's a snap.

to voice dial, just say the last name first. that's how it will appear in the contacts in avic.

if you need help, PM me.
