ccrobin
Hello, I have a F700BT that has a bad CD drive mechanism (won't load discs). It looks really easy to replace the mechanism (and I can order it directly from Pioneer), but I was wondering if I could add a DVD mechanism from the F900BT instead? (I would like to add DVD functionality to the F700BT if it would work)

bmatlock00
I actually thought about doing this to my F700, im in the same boat, the cd drive will no longer load. You're right the drive assembly is very easy to remove, 4 screws and a ribbon cable. The only problem is that the drive assembly for the F700 part #CXK5763 is $103.50 The drive from the F900/90bt part #CXK6631 is $265.08 I paid $200 for the unit itself so if I replace with the regular drive it would still be a good deal on the F700. But if i spend $265.08 on a dvd drive then it would not make much sense as I could have bought a real F900bt and had MSN Direct ect. Unless you can find someone with a trashed f900/90bt and use it for parts.
