  1. I know it was just released and there probably isn't anyone that can answer these questions yet. Is this an upgrade over the Avic-F700bt or even the Avic-D3? From what i can see is that the phone has to be plugged in for the navigation to work, or even the radio apps. So without the phone plugged in the radio's only capability is AM/FM Radio? What if someone borrows my truck that doesn't have an iphone. I have an ipod classic with 90gb of music that will obviously not fit on my phone. So im guessing I would have to swap back and forth between my iphone 4 and my ipod? I have used t
  2. I have not had my D2 for a number of years, I currently have a D3, but I remember a few things. First there is no way to completely turn off the D2, all you can do is go to the source menu and select off. This will turn off the audio source, but the screen will still display something. I think you will have to get the remote to be able to ATT the unit. And as far as the clock goes, im pretty sure this has to be set in the map settings, maybe under "system options" if i remember correctly. Hope this helps.
  3. What part exactly did you break? The plastic plug that plugs in the back or the metal piece on the end of the mute wire? If you pulled the metal end off of the wire, then yes you can remove the mute wire from the F700bt harness and use it
  4. No, do not pay them $200 to install, I am positive that the harnesses are the same, except for the bypass wire. Oh and I forgot to mention in the first post, The plastic connector for the GPS antenna is different, You can either replace the antenna or change the plastic connector, which is very easy, don't let that scare you. The reasons I did not like the F900bt was as follows: 1. No tracking Up in 2D navigation mode, this really bothered me. 2. Blutooth works, but was not nearly as clear as on the D3. 3. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but when your on the map screen, you have to h
  5. Its the same wiring harness, just unplug the D3 and plug in the F700bt, although you will have to move the mute wire for the bypass because it is different for the F700bt. I hope your not like me though, I ordered the F900bt to replace my D3, and after 3 days I put the D3 back in.. lol Hope this helps And yes you can use the same double din kit, and the contacts will transfer from the iphone 3g.
  6. Looks to me like one is screen is broken in the upper right corner and the other on the left side of the screen, and if your looking for a broken unit what does it matter anyways?
  7. There are 2 D3's on ebay right now with broken screens.
  8. I believe the only differences are: 1. The F900bt has a one year warranty, the F90bt is 2 years. 2. The F90bt has 4 volt pre-outs
  9. I actually thought about doing this to my F700, im in the same boat, the cd drive will no longer load. You're right the drive assembly is very easy to remove, 4 screws and a ribbon cable. The only problem is that the drive assembly for the F700 part #CXK5763 is $103.50 The drive from the F900/90bt part #CXK6631 is $265.08 I paid $200 for the unit itself so if I replace with the regular drive it would still be a good deal on the F700. But if i spend $265.08 on a dvd drive then it would not make much sense as I could have bought a real F900bt and had MSN Direct ect. Unless
  10. I may be wrong because I dont have a camera, but I beleive any of the cameras will do this. It is the head unit, not the camera that senses when the vehicle is in reverse, and switches to camera view.
  11. Looking for a drive assembly for a F700bt. PM me if you have one and want to sell. Or if you have the whole navi that is broke or fried im interested.
  12. You can get it from pioneer, part #CDE7839 but its $50.95. Why not buy it on ebay, someone just listed a used one on there starting at .99 but looks kinda rough. You can also use the avic-d1 harness.
  13. Don't just PULL it out it will break, get a small screwdriver or pin to release it, look on the bypass thread. There are pictures on how to do this
  14. and msn direct obviously, did you read the thread? I know they are pretty much the same.
  15. So no one has loaded a F900BT/F90BT flash disk onto a F700BT? I thought someone on here would have done this by now. I had the F900BT a few weeks back and hated it. I reinstalled my D3 within a few days. However I picked up a F700BT on ebay for $250 and going to put it in my work car, just to play around with, and if the next update is good enough I might swap it with the D3. I would be willing to load the F900BT/F90BT flash disk onto it if someone can provide the file. Its pretty big I believe around 1.6gb.
