achenator
I have a f90 and when using the ipod connection the right channel sounds low and distorted. It only does this on the ipod connection and sounds fine on all other sources. I noticed this shortly after the software update although the two could also not be related. I am using the cable that came with the unit. Will switching to the apple cable help this? Anybody else having similar issues?
boberto00
Since it is only the ipod that does it, it could very well be the cable. If the wire for the right channel is damaged it can cause this. Try a different cable if you have one.

achenator
I took my dash apart while the unit was playing and jiggled the wires a bit. It went back to normal and I couldn't get it to distort again. I taped the connections with the rca plugs with electrical tape -it seems the rca plugs don't fit together very tightly. So far, so good. At least I know if it occurs again it is a wiring problem and not a software or hardware problem and I will continue to approach it as such. Thanks for the help and ideas.
