cntrylvr79
If you meter it, set the meter to a/c and the reading should fluctuate as the car's speed changes. Or if you don't have a meter, you can hook into that wire and check the speed pulse count on the z1. It'll go up when moving if you got the right one. That gray/black wire is or should be the only gray/black in the harness.
jimmy303
I've probably installed about 50 AVIC's in the F250/350 trucks, seeing as we have a huge truck accessory dept. I have been putting systems in a buttload of these trucks lately, and I have had no problems with putting the GPS and XM antennas inside, behind the radio, on top of the a/c duct to the right of the radio opening. I use the piece of metal that comes with the GPS antenna, and it works fantastic. As far as any other questions, it looks like they were all answered, and then some. I've also been using the circuit you got there for the Z1, and kudos, DB, kudos....the tr-7/vt-3 combo is a pain. Thanks for making my life easier. I install about 10 Z1's a month on the average, so it's been a huge help.
