dipstik101
Hello, Just bought the avic-f700bt and I'm installing it myself in a '97 Prelude. All is good except the rca outputs from the f700bt. I have a simple audiobahn subwoofer amp that I'm plugging into the rca outputs labeled "subwoofer output" and then attaching the remote wire from the amp to the designated blue/white remote control wire coming from the unit. This creates a massive amount of feedback through subwoofer. The speakers are playing great and the f700bt is working fine as far as i know. i also tried hooking up the remote wire from the audiobahn amp directly to my cars remote control ignition wire, and i still receive the feedback through the subwoofer when i plug the rca cables into the f700bt unit. any ideas? Thanks in advance
dipstik101
would a ground loop isolator fix this?
dipstik101
ok installed a ground loop isolator and all feedback is gone. but still no signal from rca?
bzarins
Sounds like your rcas are bad. Try plugging a different set in. All a ground loop isolator does is attenuate the signal on the rcas... pretty much just a bandaid for a different problem. Really it could be a lot of things though. dipstik101
ya that's the thing. ironically i have an older pioneer hu that i'm swapping in and out to test. and the subs work great with the old hu. so i know the amp/rca cables are good. has to be the hu right? dipstik101
just went to a local car audio shop. They said this is a usual problem for them with all avic's. they say alot of them just come with rca outputs that don't work at all.
