DaveZ
As long as you splice in the connector needed I don't see any problems.
brawl
Is it a proprietary connector or is it just a standard one for the f series?
1loudls
its a standard 2.5mm plug, most factory equiptment will use a proprietary connector so will you will need to solder on a new plug, but thats about it

UberDave
You have to be careful about this, certain factory mics have different gain settings (I think, I'm not an expert) that can make them sound like crap with a non-factory bluetooth kit. I had this problem with my Audi A4, the stock mic sounded terrible and some guys on the audi board actually put together a circuit that could be wired inline with the stock mic so gain could be adjusted with aftermarket kits. I ended up just installing my Nokia mic in the stock location, ditching the stock mic all together. So, I would just try it with the stock mic (if it has the correct connector, the one in my Audi didn't) just do it while the Avic isn't fully installed so you can use the Avic mic if it sounds bad. Would you be so kind as to link me to the page/post/forum? I am trying this with a BMW antenna, seems like a similar issue is happening. thanks! Luke
UberDave
Sure, here you go. See "the optional circuit" in the article. It's pretty old but it sounds like the same problem you're having. There are also several other bluetooth install articles in this database, pretty interesting how they integrate the aftermarket kits with the stock wiring.
