narcolept
Just go over to Apple and buy one of the refurb Nanos. Seriously. You're going to spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to make something work that isn't going to, and then you're either going to be stuck still using an SD card, or you're going to have to suck it up at that point and buy an ipod and a cable. You've been told more than one way by more than one person that this isn't happening, but you're hammering away at these threads like everyone is lying to you.. BorisM
I'm not really interested in going through getting an iPod when picking up a drive is so much easier. Just as long as you don't have the lagging issues we experience while using SD's, then getting a 1.8" HDD sounds like it's a better solution that a 2.5" HDD. There is absolutely no difference between 2.5 and 1.8 drives as far as functionality goes.
Guest x5james
It's the price difference of around $80 http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC293 ... TY3MzY4ODg. Diego also said he didn't have the power issues the 2.5" had since it appears the 1.8" requires less power. I tried looking around on eBay for damaged iPod's, but they get snatched up so damn quick. narcolept
I don't know what to tell you. As Boris and others explained, what you're talking about doing isn't possible. Bid on a non-broken screen one, you can get nanos on ebay for < $100 all day long. Seriously, an ipod is the only way you're going to do what you want, period.
