chanu554
So I bought a used z1 from someone and it was working perfectly fine. The guy wired it up a little different, with a switch attached to do the bypass which seemed to work but then stopped so I changed it to the 2 wire ground method. Before doing this I tried to do the bluetooth update and it stopped at 2% and told me to hit retry but it just keeps telling me to do that over and over. My unit is Jul06. I'm not sure how to fix this. Should I try to burn the iso on to another disc? Would any sort of reset work or maybe doing a firmware update. Please help.
garrettoomey
The bluetooth fix IS a firmware update. You could try to burn a new disc to rule out a possible bad disc. This was a common problem with this update, and people just had to keep trying until it worked...
chanu554
Thanks I'll try that and see if it works. In the event it doesn't work any other ideas or do I have an expensive paperweight.
garrettoomey
Another option would be to upgrade/replace the hard drive with the Z3 image. This would force the writing of the firmware again that should clear your issue.
chanu554
Do you think that GnatGoSplat procedure below would work instead of upgrading to the z3 image. 1. Press the RESET and EJECT buttons simultaneously while +Battery, ACC ON. 2. Release only the RESET button. 3. Release the EJECT button when the password input screen is displayed. 4. Input the password. Input the password from the keys in the order of [P.LIST up]→[P.LIST up]→[P.LIST down]→[P.LIST down]→[TRFC(TA/NEWS)] 5. Test mode menu will be displayed when the password matches. 6. Use TRACK RIGHT to get to Page 3. 7. Use P.LIST to highlight option "10. Program forced write", then press T to select. 8. Select PLATFORM to force re-flashing the PLATFORM
chanu554
Ok so I tried GnatGoSplat's method and it doesn't work for me. When I startup th unit it still give me a failed message and again I hit retry over and over again but still no luck. I may have to upgrade to the z3 image unless anyone has any other ideas. I also tried with other brands of cd's and even tried it with a dvd but still no luck.
chanu554
Ok so GnatGoSplat's technique allows me to enter the service menu but I cannot force the program to write. I spoke with someone at Pioneer and they said unplug the power cord, wait 10 minutes and then try to put in another copy of the update. Tried it and still no luck. Any ideas. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
