How do I avoid part or a route on Avic-F700BT

Ok on my tomtom if i hit a bust road and want to dodge it after i have already put in my destination i just press avoid part of route. How do i do this on the Avic-F700BT, last time i tried it just kept taking me back to the same highway i was trying to avoid, thanks

Bring up the route itinerary screen, click on the manuever you want to avoid, and when it displays it on the map, there will be an "AVOID" button. You can select length of avoidance, or the entire road.

 

Some of the mods in the Hacks section let you set up permanent avoids by day/time, too...

In my mod you simply tap the next street name at the top of the screen to get a road list. then tap the road you want and hit avoid.
