Less chatter?

Recommended Posts

I'm relatively new to the AVIC, having installed an F900BT in my wife's car about a month ago. In general, the unit works very well but there are a couple of things she'd love to change:

1) can the Nav spoken directions be made less chatty? I don't really need to be told to continue straight at every single freeway exit, as it seems wont to do.

2) we've installed a steering-wheel remote link to her Honda Pilot's standard wheel. Can one of the buttons be programmed to invoke the voice interface?

Many thanks in advance. I'm just exploring the forums and am highly impressed with the level of technical expertise available here.

I agree. You can MUTE the voice totally, but I still want the spoken directions, just not as often. I don't need to be reminded to turn right in a half mile, a quarter mile, 400 feet, 200 feet, then take next right, then again take next right. Or another poor programming note, prepare to enter freeway in 1000 ft, then 400 feet, then enter. Once would be more than enough. THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE. You must, once on the ramp, enter the freeway, highway, or whatever. Samantha interrupts the radio to tell me what she has already told me. So, to repeat their question, is there a mod to LESSEN her chattiness? Thanks. It would be another great addition. I have to say, I love the mods you guys can come up with. I have many implemented (including rid of the nav message most of the time) and I think it's great. Thanks again to all you modders.

You can edit the commands and that would solve your problem :)
