Les H
I just completed a bypass of my D1 unit by using the A-Ant lead and moving it over then grounding it. The bypass worked perfect, however, my FM reception is no longer as good as it was and I get no AM reception at all. I was assuming that the lead was for a "automatic antenna" Do 4runners use the wire to for some sort of amplified antenna? Thanks.
cntrylvr79
It's more than likely. If you tie the blue/white wire from the avic to the blue wire of the wire harness that I'm hoping you used, that will take care of your radio reception issues.
Les H
Thanks for the help. Yes I used the solid blue wire and moved it in the harness to the open spot and grounded the end. Are you saying to tap into the blue/white wire with the remaining end of the blue wire that goes into the factory wiring?
cntrylvr79
Yup That would be it.
