yoan
I`m sorry if I`m covering old ground on this, but I`m having problems with my F900BTs Bluetooth. I`ve looked through the forum and none of the other fixes seem to do the trick! It started a few weeks back when I noticed my phone (N95) wasn`t connected and no Blue led! I checked to see if the phone was connected and found the phone was greyed out so though no problem and deleted the connection and try to reconnect. upon trying to reconnect using the "search Devices" option the head unit times out with a "Could not find any available phones" and the Blue led stays off (only ever flashes twice during boot up and at no other time), so though I`d try "search specific devices" but where the unit then would display a selection of various items the list stays blank! I thought then at this point that maybe the Bluetooth firmware may need updating. so off to the Pioneer.eu website and downloaded the latest 3.30 software and onto a tested 1Gb card (i put the three files included in the update in the root directory). Tried to install the software and noticed that the current version listed as "Not Found", anyway I tried the update but it reported back very briefly "Updating Bluetooth software. Do not shut power off. Please wait" and then "An error occurred and the update failed" is displayed. Tried then with the 2.90 update from pioneer and getting the same results. Since then I have updated the unit to 2.00009 (just came available in europe), but this still doesn`t solve by Bluetooth Woes! I`ve emailed Pioneer Customer (Non) Support with my problems but have yet to receive any response from them! Can anyone shed some light on my predicament?
garethjsmith
Hi any luck with your bluetooth problem? I have the exact same issue. I was already on the latest firmware 2.9 but when trying to update again to see if that helped it just wouldn't read my SD card unless it already knew it was at this version... SD card is fine as the bluetooth update can read it. Please let me know, going to call Pioneer tomorrow if they are there or Monday. Thanks.
yoan
Hi Gareth! I contacted Pioneer uk and they said as it was out of warranty (by a couple of weeks!!0 I'd need to speak to one of their uk repair agents! and a list was available via their website! (Useful as a chocolate fireguard as I though!), As I was in work and should have been working I looked on the site and found one company! sent an email to company called Advanced Elelctronics & Logistics (http://www.a-e-l.com) who answered that a repair would be £125 + Vat!!! I replied to them to see what is covered and what warranty is applied to the repair and what firmware would be on the machine when it was returned (hopeing for V3 maps!?!) . My unit now occassionally refuses to play my ipod and a reset is needed! and as I need hands free in the car I've put back in my Standard Sony head unit and nokia CK-7 hands free! Seems to me that there are a lot of problems with the f series thats come back to bite Pioneer on the arse!
garethjsmith
I managed to resolve this today! So I now have bluetooth and my safety cams functioning correctly. This is what I did... Downloaded Testmode V2.3 from here -> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FXFEWLS0 copied to SD card and booted from it into Testmode. From Testmode I moved (leave the folders in place) all the files in the following folders to SD card for backup; MyFlashDisk /User / userdata / iGO / Save MyFlashDisk /User / userdata / Setup Rebooted device without SD card. (had to re-configure the satnav basic settings) The bluetooth then displayed the version (V2.9) and could pair my phone again. After this I updated bluetooth to V3.3 and tested. I then installed the safety cam update and this time it didn't screw up my bluetooth! Hope this helps others, thanks to everyone who helped me.

HornedFrogGrant
Sounds like the same exact problem I'm having with the Bluetooth in my F90BT. I'll have to give your "fix" a try.
tommern_nor
MyFlashDisk /User / userdata / iGO / Save MyFlashDisk /User / userdata / Setup To bad.. This didn't worked for me.. Anyone has another idea how to fix this?? I also tried this and it did not work for me either by only deleting the files in those folders, but i solved it by deleting the whole MyFlashDisk /User folder, this will be created on the boot. It works by only renaming the user folder then you also have a backup of your data.

Apparently I have no clue what I'm doing. I downloaded the above mentioned file to an SD card, popped it in my F90BT, and started my truck. It didnt do anything, and browsing the "system settings" menu, I couldnt find anywhere that would allow me to upload anything from the SD card. Any tips for a clueless newbie? I have zero experience with car audio, much less running programs/files/whatever on a headunit.

I tried to move the userdata files first and after I deleted the whole MyFlashDisk/User folder, but after the reboot the result is the same: NO bluetooth version displaying. Dear Galadrill, could you explain your words: "It works by only renaming the user folder then you also have a backup of your data"? What should be the new name of the USER folder? I tried to rename it, but after the reboot i got the USER folder again. Could anybody help me? Thanks in advance!

Hi limahl, tommern_nor was talking about renaming the USER directory just for having a backup in case something wents wrong... But I didn't have any luck removing those user settings directories. I've also reinstalled the EU version of 3.000300 (viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26625). inclusing the WinCE update... but again... noluck. Has anyone another idea how to get bluetooth working again??????? Really want this to work... Thanks for the time!
limahl
Hi Galadril, Meantime I solved my problem, and my bluetooth works again . But I used till the EU version 2.005000. I did the firmware update to version 2.00900 from Pioneer website, but after the installation "NO bluetooth version" displayed. I pushed the button on the screen "software update", and from SD card (3 file from the root directory) installed the bluetooth software successful. So i,am happy now, the bluetooth works well. So unfortunately I can't help you Galadril.
