unix-guy
Hi, I was trying to hook up my old iPod classic 20gb with the F900bt hoping I could just leave it in the car since my iPhone will use bluetooth for making calls. In any case, I get an error message saying it's not a supported iPod. The support matrix shows it supported with software 1.1.1 and I have 3.1.1. Am I just out of luck? 1.1.1 seems crusty-old to me Anyone have a fix? Thanks, Kevin
1loudls
there was never an Ipod classic that was 20 gigs, the oldest Ipods that will work are Ipod videos (5th gen) which where availible in 30gb and 60gb, the classic's where made after that (120gb-160gb). the older ipods that would show pictures and not videos were 4th gens and the Ipods without color were 3rd gens and older. again the oldest Ipods that will work are the 30gb and 60gb Ipod videos (5th gen)
unix-guy
Thanks for clarifying that... I guess I went straight from the 3rd Gen to iPhone. That explains it! Kevin
johnfire
What if you have a 5th gen and it keeps giving you an error message? I am almost done the install and was testing the unit out. Tommorrow when I bolt it all down I will do the firmware update. Just looking for a heads up to what the problem could be. This is on an X910BT.
1loudls
make sure your Ipod i "as uptodate as possible" there should be no problems with 5th gens, a lot of units have problems if the software on the ipod is older that the device that is tring to control it Itunes>update Ipod>happy Ipod
