Is it easy, or is it possible to change the firmware and maps to EU-standard? I want to buy the F900BT in USA, beacause its MUCH cheaper than in germany. THere's a thread in the Hacks forum about how to do it with step by step instructions. Do note that a) radio will not work well (US uses different FM frequencies than Europe) and you will have no TMC and DVD player is Region 1 only. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

That the use other frequences i didn't knew. But what do you mean with DVD Region 1?? I just want to buy the USA F900BT, because it got a DVD player. Price for me in euro: ~650€ If the DVD player doesn't work for me, i could buy an EU F700BT then i don't have the DVD player too, but TMC and radio work well. price in euro: ~600-650€ and 2 years garantie in USA just 1 year. Europe is, I think, Region 2. So if you insert a European disk into a region 1 player, you will get a nice notice telling you that you can not play the disk... On PCs this protection can usually be bypassed, but nobody had figured it out for car systems yet. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
