Can you permanently download Custom POIs from the SD card?

I understand how to use Navgate Feeds to create custom POIs. When I put the SD card in my F900 I can see those POIs but I cannot work out how to store/transfer them on the unit if that is indeed possible. Can this be done or do I need to maintain the custom database on the SD card?

 

I have read the manual from cover to cover and though it touches on the subject at times I do not seem to able to find step by step instructions on how to achieve this. I am also presuming that any icons created in AVIC Feeds can only be attached to Custom POIs and not those supplied on the unit.
