Scott8659
I installed my Z110BT in a 2005 M3. For those not familiar the E46 based M3's have everything located in the trunk. I went with the Connects2 steering adaptor and it came with a nice premade wiring harness that I would like to use. Since it plugs into the back I need to extend the Pioneer remote connector to the front. Anyone know what type of connector Pioneer uses for the remote control interface? It looks like some type of miniplug but I want to make sure I get the right one.
VBLUE42
The connects2 is a two part harness but sold separately. You should also have one that is made for the Pioneer. BTW, where did you purchase the connects2 harness?
Scott8659
Purchased it from Dynamic Sounds in the UK. I have the Pioneer output. It looks like it's a 3.5mm miniplug but I was hoping to verify before I purchased an extension cable.
VBLUE42
Are you in the US or the UK? I ask because I am interested in getting a connects2 interface and just need a dealer to purchase it from.
Scott8659
I'm in the U.S. I got the unit and interface shipped for about $78. Took about 10 days for it to arrive.
fe342185
Is there an advantage in Connects2 over the SWI-PS? I used the SWI-PS on my X5 and it seems to work well.
Scott8659
Main advantage is no programming. I read too many stories about the PAC lag on volume changes and such that I decided to try something different. The downside is no programming so you can't setup buttons to do something different than factory.
