Alphamale4
I just got the d2/ipod cd-ib100ii/and the xm nav traffic(gex-p10xmt) I also got the pac roem so I could keep my bose system sounding good. My question is all these items have to be grounded. In the supplied nissan wire harness there is a black wire that is used for ground. Can I ground ALL of the parts ( ipod, xm, bipass hack, and the avic ) to the BLACK wire provided by the harness? Or do I have to ground all these black wires to a metal part of my car. sportsfan21
You can connect them all to that black wire.
cntrylvr79
Actually you can't ground them at that black wire. Most if not all nissans don't actually have a ground pin in the harness. the stock radio grounds through the bolts that hold it in place. Best bet is to ground everything to metal in the car. Also on your harness there should be a black/white wire. Hook that one up to the same place you gorund everything else.
sportsfan21
Really?!?!! My Pathfinder had a black wire in the harness that I grounded everything to and it works fine. The screws that actually held the radio in place were screwed into plastic so it wasnt grounded there. Thats weird.... In that case I apologize for my wrong info
cntrylvr79
If you look behind that plastic there is metal behind at least 2 of the screws.
