MSN direct issue, not getting any signal-installation issue?

Recommended Posts

i have an avic x910bt and MSN direct doesn't work in the least bit. i understand its identical to the f series so any help would be appreciated

from the msn page on the unit the antenna is completely grayed out and is receiving no signal. from the directions it says i should go to status and when i do so i just get a black box saying "connection to MSN direct" which never changes.

i contacted MSN and they said i have to contact my installer, but i installed it so thats not going to work.

it is my understanding that the antenna is the ipod cable coming from the back of the unit or somthing similar?

my gps antenna is on the right hand side of the windshield and my cars radio antenna is the rear window.

any idea what i may have done wrong?

I'm assuming you activated your MSN via website or phone.

Did you verify MSN Direct is available in your area? Know anyone else with it that receives it ok?

Your antenna is also the MSN antenna. Usually no problem unless you have the HD Radio module. In this case, you need to use an antenna splitter to provide antenna to HD and antenna to the head unit for MSN (Or use a 2nd antenna). All I can think of at the moment.

To mattesonb My name is Jeff

My F900BT did the same thing to the T. Read my posts ( MSN-Direct won't activate ) one thing I did was to a hard reset A small button just under the eject button. Use a pen or paper clip Press and hold hold it in for about ten or so seconds the system will reboot. Leave it on. Now after reboot go to your pc. go to MSN-Direct home page sign in and reactivte your signal. It takes any where from 2-45 Minutes to load infomation. Try to move your car or truck to a different place to get a better signal. BTY mine has never shown it to be fully activated. Only inactive or experied, but it does get info gas prices and weather, movie times. I hope that helps good luck luck Jeff R.

P.S. I sent my unit to Pioneer to have this bug fixed, after I got it back it still does the same thing. Thanks for Pioneer for the big waste of time and money.
