I have a factory refurbished n2 and I have figured that they replaced the bottom of my unit the bottom of the n1 unit. I say this because I have no silver sticker or hole for the R197 pins. Therefore, I want to take the unit apart to connect the R197 pins. I tried taking the unit apart but I cant seem to get the bottom metal part of the unit off. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

bulldawg3111 Posted November 18, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 18, 2006 I tried following that but when I took out the necessary screws the bottom plate was not loosened at all. Only the back plate was loosened when I followed the n1 instructions. Is is supposed to be difficult to remove the bottom plate or should it come right off when the necessary screws are removed? bulldawg3111 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 19, 2006 I have taken all of the stickers off, and there is no hole with the R197 pins under any of them. There is a small hole under the large pioneer sticker on the left but it is not oval shaped like the hole I have seen in pictures on this forum, also there are no R197 pins in this hole. Termist Posted November 19, 2006 Report Share Posted November 19, 2006 AHHHHHHH Ok, I get it. Basically you're not even close to getting the thing totally apart. You have to pry it open once you get all the screw out. Watch out for the ribbon though. Get a small flat head and start carefully prying the base apart. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
